Most of the reviewers are pretty critical because they seem to want their Mac to act as a 'dumb terminal' for the iPhone and allow them to, essentially, operate the iPhone from the Mac. This app will not do that. Nor will it seemlessly send texts to your phone to be sent to another phone and, then, have the other person's responses to your texts show up on your iMac. What it will do, however, is allow you to type long, long texts on your iMac, send them to the SMS app on your iPhone, and then hit send on the iPhone to get the message out. For me, this was worth the $1.99 because (a) I had an extremely long message to send and (b) I wanted to insure that the response came back to my iPhone rather than to some other 'internet type of SMS service which allows you to send texts from your computer.' I would hope that future versions of this app would incorporate some of what the critics are asking for. Even without those added features, this app is very useful. J_Ekis, Does what the app description says All these reviews knocking this app for not doing something it never claimed to do in the first place. The description is clear that it sends messages through the iPhone, not through the mac itself. Read the description of an app before buying, folks. That's why it's there. Anyway, I gave it four stars, not because it is spectacularly useful, but because it performs as advertised. However, for typing into your iPhone from your Mac, I'd recommend something much more flexible and useful, Like type2phone or iKeyboard. These apps turn your mac into a Bluetooth keyboard for your phone. You can type into any app, not just text messages. Both are found here in the Mac App Store, and don't require a companion iPhone app. They are more expensive than this app, so if you only need to type text messages this way, it gets the job done nicely.
